Out and About with Pete Sluman & Richard Parrott

Monday’s evening meeting was split into two halves.  Member, Pete Sluman took charge in the first half and showed us some interesting images from “Out and About in EX16″, the postcode area.  Proving to everyone that you do not have to go very far to get some beautiful images, although the EX16 postcode covers a wide area. He had arranged his photos in alphabetical order from Bampton to Withleigh – with village life, country cottages and farming artifacts and sweeping landscapes his favoured subjects.  Luscious greens and deep rich red Devon soil featured in many of his countryside and woodland pictures.

In the second half, Member Richard Parrott took over to show his recent work.  He began with night photography in Tiverton Town Centre and moved onto Exeter showing some colourful Christmas lights reflected in rain washed pavements and brightly lit shop fronts.  He then showed a project he had done of Ladysmead, the home of Tiverton Town Football Club and how he likes to experiment with Photoshop using clarity and saturation.  Other subject shown were Tiverton Town Band, Sunsets at Topsham, Flowers and Animals and Birds.

Chairman, Bette Delling, thanked Pete and Richard for showing some excellent images.
