What’s On in May

The Photographic Treasure Hunt planned for the last meeting of the season was cancelled due to the bad weather so members did a quiz organised by Ros Nichols instead. The Treasure Hunt will be completed over the summer and anyone wishing to take part should take photos to represent as many letters of the alphabet – A to Z – as possible.  Any subject taken anywhere.   The results will be shown in the autumn.  (I may give a prize to the best 26 photos in an alpha-set – Ros)

Members enjoyed a lovely end of season meal at The Merrimeade Hotel, Sampford Peverell, organised by Brian Rew-Dixon.

A Photographic Treasure Hunt

Monday 30 April 2012 – A photographic treasure hunt

To meet at the clubhouse at 7.30pm for notices, etc. To go out, collectively or in small groups with your camera and take a photo to represent as many letters of the alphabet A to Z as possible.

For Example: A is for Almhouses; or the letter A on a sign.

To return to the clubhouse around 8.45pm – 9pm for refreshments and discussion.

If  members do not have time to finish the Treasure Hunt on the night, perhaps they would like to use the summer break to fill in the gaps and we can have an evening next season to show the results. Any subject. Any format. Anywhere. Anything goes…… show your artist talent!

(I may even consider awarding a prize to the best set of alpha-photos!! Ros)

Members Critique Evening

Members last Monday discussed the results of the recent Print of the Year and Digital Image of the Year competition results.  In a rare opportunity it gave entrants a chance to discuss their own images and respond to the comments given by the competition judge.  Critique and compliments were encouraged from all and helpful advice given to each other.
The 20 chosen images for the forthcoming six-club battle in June were shown and approved by the audience.
NEXT MONDAY IS A PHOTOGRAPHIC TREASURE HUNT SO PLEASE BRING YOUR CAMERAS FOR THE LAST WEEKLY MEETING OF THE SEASON
